ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Safe and smart roads, bridges and railways, durable pavements and efficient infrastructure designs have a significant impact on daily travel and logistics. As transport infrastructure receives a large proportion of state investment, there is an ever-growing demand for technical specialists who would create efficient road designs, plan, organise, supervise construction and maintenance of roads, and minimise costs and consumption of resources in the process. Specialists in this field are in high demand in local authorities, private companies, contracting, consulting and regulatory organisations.

Future road engineers study mathematics, physics, IT, engineering graphics, material science, computer-aided drawing, road design, structural calculations, surveying, road maintenance, etc. Theoretical knowledge is consolidated and further developed in practical training, which lasts up to 20 weeks in total and is conducted in five stages: introductory training and surveying fieldwork are performed at KTK; marking training, industry and final internships are performed at partner companies.

Students have a possibility to study under the Erasmus+ student mobility programme in higher education institutions of the EU, Norway and Turkey, as well as to perform Erasmus+ traineeships in foreign companies. You can find the full list of KTK partner institutions here

Graduates can work in various fields of road engineering, prepare road designs, estimates and surveys, evaluate construction products, plan, organise and technically supervise road construction, reconstruction or repair works, prepare business and economic activity plans for theri company (division) and analyse the economic business environment.

Students are awarded a Professional Bachelor's degree in Engineering upon completion of their studies and successful defense of graduation thesis. Graduates can continue their studies and obtain a master’s degree.
